Hello everyone. Pastor John here 🙂
I have never been very good at “bio’s” because I am never quite sure what to say. If you say too little folks often want to know more – and if you say too much it can come across as aggrandizement. So, I will briefly mention the things that are most important to me.
I love being the pastor of Calvary Chapel Central! Have there been rough patches along this twenty-five year road? Of course. When I was called to this ministry at Central, the Lord made it clear to me that I would face some of the toughest times in my life, but that I would also face some of the most wonderful. That has certainly been the case. So I want to say, “Thank you!” to all who have enriched my life! And “Thank you!” for letting me be your pastor all these years.
I love being a husband to the love of my life – Becky – my beautiful wife. I love being a dad even though I have made mistakes and wish there could be a few “do-overs”. I love being a grandpa. There is nothing that compares to having a little one come running up to you so excited they can hardly contain themselves, or having them fall asleep in your arms. The first time I heard “Papa” – my grandson could have asked for just about anything and I would have granted his wish! And I love the lasting friendships the Lord has allowed me to have through the years.
I love Jesus and I must add that without being a Christian man – none of the above would have the same meaning and purpose in my life. Jesus just makes everything a lot sweeter! I am grateful for His love and mercy and forgiveness.
When Calvary Central started as a home Bible study in the home of Paul and Ginger Hannah – many years ago – none of us had any idea what the Lord had planned, but I am so thankful that we stepped out in faith.
